I haven't posted for a while, partly because it's new for me and scary. Staring at a blank page can be daunting, especially with the thought that your words will be exposed to everyone on the internet. But it still seems like a good idea to have a blog with our ecard website, so I'll keep at it. If you are thinking of starting your own blog here is Seth Godin's take on what and what not to blog.
One of the first quotes I attempted to animate while learning Flash digital animation was Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream so shall you become, from James Allen's classic book on positive thought, As A Man Thinketh. Although I had never read the book I loved the quote and worked and reworked that ecard for a long time as I tried to get a handle on Flash. James Allen became a part of my life. Last year Mike gave me a copy of As A Woman Thinketh, the same book transcribed into feminine terms by writer Dorothy Jean Hulst and I finally read the whole book. It has become a favorite for inspiring and guiding the current of my thoughts. Here is a link to an online edition of Allen's original version, first published in 1902 and now in public domain. It took some time for me to get into this book, but then it took me over.
And by the way, don't forget to send a Valentine to a loved one or friend....share the love :)
